Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jorgen Kruth (ranked 642 p4p, 508 weight class) and Mer Lo (ranked 57 p4p, 48 weight class). Kruth's entrance music is Black Hole Sun- Soundgarden. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorgen Kruth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mer Lo! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lo clinches with his opponent.
Nice body punch from Lo. Lo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kruth.
Kruth is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lo is defending well. Kruth is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorgen Kruth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lo scores with a nice hook to the head. Kruth goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lo prevents it.
Lo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kruth uses from the top position. Lo looking for a sweep. Not yet Lo, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kruth drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kruth has Lo in his guard.

Kruth is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lo defends well.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lo trying to control but Kruth is working from the bottom.

Lo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've been hearing good reports from Kruth's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lo passes Kruth's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lo is looking to take a break and control but Kruth is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kruth keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are battling for position here. Kruth manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kruth keeping moving, preventing Lo from controlling successfully. Lo looking to sit in guard and control but Kruth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kruth slips nicely into half guard. Lo is trying to maintain the position but Kruth is very close to passing his half guard.

Kruth not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kruth seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kruth is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lo is looking for a sweep. Kruth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lo is looking to control Kruth's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lo avoid being mounted? Kruth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mer Lo dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kruth shoots in but no luck this time. Kruth moves away from the strike by Lo. Kruth looks for a takedown but Lo sprawls well. Lo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kruth fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorgen Kruth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kruth doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Lo scores with a hook to the body. Kruth takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Lo misses with a two punch combination.
Lo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kruth is looking to counter the offense by Lo and move into the clinch. Kruth shoots in looking for a takedown. Lo tries to sprawl out of it but Kruth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lo lands a jab. Kruth fails with a takedown attempt. Lo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Lo lands a nice looking body shot.

Lo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kruth. Lo misses with a wild combination.
Lo works Kruth's body with a nice hook. Lo swings for the body but Kruth moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kruth shoots for a takedown but Lo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lo leaves Kruth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lo stuffs the takedown attempt from Kruth. Kruth gets slowly back to his feet. Lo throws a hook to the side of Kruth's head but Kruth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kruth attempts a counter takedown but Lo avoids it well and moves away. Kruth looks for a takedown but Lo sprawls well. Lo is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kruth with a body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kruth dives in for a single leg takedown but Lo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kruth regains guard immediately.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kruth can't keep his opponent in guard - Lo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. This has been an exciting period of action! Lo is looking to advance position but Kruth won't allow it. Kruth wants to get back to full guard. Lo is pressing down on Kruth's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kruth is holding on for now. Kruth is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lo is trying to work for a kimura but Kruth is defending well.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kruth wants to improve his position but Lo is controlling well.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kruth trying to control the position from guard on top but Lo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kruth is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kruth not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mer Lo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Lo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Kruth can't keep his opponent in guard - Lo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.  That's one minute gone in the round. Kruth makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kruth. Lo trying to control the position from guard on top but Kruth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kruth keeping full guard, as Lo tries to pass. Jorgen Kruth has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kruth escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kruth being controlled for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kruth tries to bench press Lo off him but Lo keeps the position. Kruth wants to control but Lo postures up. Kruth tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kruth is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kruth tries to roll over but Lo keeps him under control.
Lo is working for a kimura but Kruth is defending it quite comfortably.
Lo tries to pass to full mount but Kruth defends it. Kruth gets back to full guard.
Mer Lo has got the better of the ground game so far.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kruth gets back to full guard.
Kruth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lo is one step ahead there. Mer Lo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kruth keeping full guard, as Lo tries to pass.
And that's the end of the fight! Mer Lo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
