Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Liwa Kursiwa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Charles Mesquita!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita throws a sloppy body shot
and Kursiwa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kursiwa looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mesquita checks the leg kick nicely there.
Nice takedown defense from Kursiwa. No joy for Mesquita on that attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mesquita seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Oh Kursiwa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
