This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 2 losses; Steve Fish! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Kulik rushes Fish and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kulik is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Kulik has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Fish wants to sweep here but Kulik controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fish wants to advance to full mount but Kulik doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Kulik really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fish is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kulik knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kulik is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Kulik moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kulik keeping full guard, as Fish tries to pass. Kulik looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

 That's seven minutes gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Fish is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kulik is defending well though. Fish let's go of the attempt for now. Kulik trying to control the action but Fish just sinks the hooks in.

Fish can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kulik controls the pace. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fish holds on and takes a little breather. And that's the end of the fight! Fish wins on points by 11 to 5. During a confident post fight interview, Steve Fish thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. |
