Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stanley Emelianenko (ranked 2705 p4p, 2590 weight class) and Jarrah Hooper (ranked 321 p4p, 309 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanley Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jarrah Hooper! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Emelianenko just misses with a punch to the body.
Emelianenko blocks a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Emelianenko. Hooper does a little dance to reset his feet. Emelianenko misses with a right hand and Hooper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Hooper. Emelianenko does a little dance to reset his feet. Emelianenko was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Emelianenko throws a lazy right hand but Hooper sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Emelianenko misses with a looping left. Hooper keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Emelianenko. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooper misses with a hook
and Hooper takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Emelianenko on the wrong end of a nice jab.
 It looks like Stanley Emelianenko has been cut. Emelianenko connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hooper momentarily.
Emelianenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hooper sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hooper gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. I was talking to Emelianenko's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A right handed body shot lands from Emelianenko.

Emelianenko lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hooper backwards. Emelianenko tries a body shot but Hooper blocks it.

Emelianenko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A short left from Emelianenko. Hooper is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Hooper drops down looking for an ankle pick but Emelianenko pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Emelianenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hooper fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hooper with a body punch. A glancing blow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hooper slips a jab and a cross from Emelianenko.
Hooper has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hooper throws a looping overhand right but Emelianenko ducks down to avoid it. Hooper swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Emelianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hooper manages to avoid it. Hooper swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It looked like Emelianenko was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hooper. Emelianenko throws a hook to the side of Hooper's head but Hooper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Emelianenko jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hooper takes a body punch but keeps moving. Hooper waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Emelianenko. Emelianenko closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko throws an overhand right that lands on Hooper's shoulder, as Hooper tries to avoid the shot. Hooper throws out a counter right but Emelianenko avoids it with no problem. Hooper throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Emelianenko swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Hooper misses with an uppercut. Emelianenko saw that one coming. Emelianenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hooper tries to bum rush Emelianenko with a series of wild strikes but Emelianenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hooper misses with a wild body shot. Emelianenko is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Stanley Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Hooper finds it's way through Emelianenko's defenses.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hooper was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hooper working away. Hooper lands a decent elbow from side control.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hooper trying to control the action but Emelianenko is working from the bottom. The strikes coming from Hooper are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Emelianenko is not content to let Hooper control the position. Check out the look on Hooper's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Hooper scores with a couple of short elbows. The ground and pound from Hooper seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hooper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Emelianenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. An elbow from Hooper crashes against the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jarrah Hooper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Stanley Emelianenko's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hooper swings and misses with a shot to the body and Emelianenko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
 Hooper is rocked! and Emelianenko counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hooper! He's just covering up as Emelianenko starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stanley Emelianenko! A relieved looking Stanley Emelianenko thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
