Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Dominguez (ranked 25376 p4p, 3836 weight class) and Slap Faulkner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Joaquin Dominguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Slap Faulkner! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and William Gold.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dominguez closes the distance looking to clinch
and Faulkner counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Dominguez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Faulkner performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Faulkner decides to stand up.

Faulkner decides to stand back up. Faulkner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Faulkner throws a head kick that misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Faulkner has taken the fight to the clinch.
Our sources have told us that Dominguez has been working on his elbows in the gym.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Faulkner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dominguez just stands there and leans against the cage. Dominguez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Faulkner tries for a takedown but Dominguez manages to get underhooks.

Joaquin Dominguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slap Faulkner.
Faulkner jumps guard and drags Dominguez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Faulkner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Faulkner pulls Dominguez in close to his closed guard and prevents Dominguez from doing any damage or advancing position. Faulkner punching to the body, from the bottom.

Faulkner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dominguez is fighting to break Faulkner's control of his arms but Faulkner is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Faulkner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dominguez gets caught flat footed, as Faulkner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Faulkner forces his way into half guard. Faulkner slips a nice elbow through Dominguez's hands, connecting with Dominguez's forehead. Faulkner lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Well, if Faulkner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

Faulkner escapes and gets back to his feet.

Faulkner stands up and beckons Dominguez to his feet.
Dominguez gets caught napping as Faulkner dives in and scores a takedown. Dominguez manages to retain guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Faulkner just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dominguez's brow.

Faulkner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dominguez's guard.

Faulkner pushes Dominguez against the cage but Dominguez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Joaquin Dominguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Faulkner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dominguez, pushing him back against the cage. Faulkner has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dominguez after a bit of a struggle. Faulkner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Faulkner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dominguez uses from the top position.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Faulkner is taking a breather. Dominguez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Faulkner moves into the clinch. Faulkner will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Dominguez up against the cage. Faulkner stalling.

Faulkner has hold of one of Dominguez's legs. Dominguez is fighting the takedown attempt but Faulkner gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Dominguez wants to get back to his feet but Faulkner is dominant here and he's now got Dominguez's back! Slap Faulkner has got the better of the ground game so far. Faulkner has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Dominguez's body.
Faulkner is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Faulkner gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Faulkner gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Faulkner apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Joaquin Dominguez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Faulkner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Faulkner is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Faulkner is trying to pull guard but Dominguez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Dominguez wants to break free but Faulkner has control.

And that's the end of the fight! Slap Faulkner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Faulkner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
