Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Casey Van Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giovani Garza!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Sanders wants to clinch.
Van Sanders tries to clinch there but Garza circles away.
Van Sanders darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Garza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garza misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Van Sanders trying to control from half guard but Garza is working away.
Garza looking for a kimura from the bottom but Van Sanders passes into side control!
Garza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Van Sanders stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Garza takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Van Sanders throws a wild body kick that Garza sees coming a mile off.
And Garza tries to counter it with a takedown but Van Sanders pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Van Sanders goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Van Sanders tries to clinch there but Garza circles away.
Garza looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Van Sanders doesn't manage to clinch there - Garza circles away.
Van Sanders will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Garza scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Garza has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Van Sanders is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Garza yanks on the arm and Van Sanders is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Garza.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Giovani Garza!
Giovani Garza spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
