Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Liwa Kursiwa (ranked 638 p4p, 406 weight class) and Jorgen Kruth (ranked 56 p4p, 38 weight class). Kruth has chosen Black Hole Sun- Soundgarden as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Liwa Kursiwa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorgen Kruth! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kruth looks for a takedown but Kursiwa sprawls well. And Kursiwa counters with a quick kick to the body but Kruth blocks it.
Kursiwa gets the takedown into side control. Kursiwa grinds an elbow into Kruth's temple. Kursiwa in side control, throwing shots but Kruth defends. Kursiwa is looking to take a break and control but Kruth is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Kursiwa. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kruth holds on to Kursiwa's head and controls the position momentarily. We've been hearing that Kursiwa has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Kursiwa is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. You can see the frustration on Kruth's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Kursiwa trying to control the position but Kruth is working away. Kruth is looking for a sweep. Kruth has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Kursiwa lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Kruth manages to get back to half guard. Kursiwa sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kruth defending well though. Kruth moves into full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kruth keeping moving, preventing Kursiwa from controlling successfully. Kursiwa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kursiwa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kursiwa forces his way into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kursiwa is looking to take a break and control but Kruth is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kruth manages to get to full guard.
Kursiwa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kursiwa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kruth pulls Kursiwa in to control the position. Kursiwa content to stall in guard here. Kruth is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A punch lands to the side of Kursiwa 's head but he takes it in his stride.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kruth shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kursiwa wants to control but Kruth is keeping busy.
Kursiwa tries to kick Kruth off but Kruth keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kursiwa trying to hold on to Kruth's head to control him but Kruth postures up.
Kursiwa is defending against the submission attempts here by Kruth.
Kursiwa wants to improve his position but Kruth is controlling well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Liwa Kursiwa dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kruth darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kursiwa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kruth slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kruth advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kruth looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kruth winds up and cracks Kursiwa with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kruth is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kursiwa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kruth pulls his head out easily. Kruth stalling. Kruth is pressing down on Kursiwa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kursiwa is holding on for now. Kursiwa trying to control from the bottom.
Kruth winds up and cracks Kursiwa with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kruth thows a huge punch but Kursiwa dodges it nicely.
Kruth trying to pass the guard but Kursiwa defending well. Kursiwa is not content to let Kruth control the position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kruth wants to free his trapped foot but Kursiwa is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kursiwa looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kruth keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kursiwa leaves Kruth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kruth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kursiwa pinned against the cage. Kursiwa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kruth misses with a takedown
and Kursiwa moves into the clinch. Liwa Kursiwa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorgen Kruth.
Kursiwa has Kruth pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kursiwa pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kruth tumbling to the mat - Kursiwa dives into Kruth's guard. Kruth is trying to keep Kursiwa in close.
Kursiwa postures up in Kruth's guard and throws a big left but Kruth blocks it. Kruth can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kursiwa controls the pace. Kruth wants to sweep but no luck. Liwa Kursiwa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kruth has his foot on Kursiwa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kursiwa works his way back into a safe position though. Kruth trying to control the position here. Kruth keeping moving, preventing Kursiwa from controlling successfully. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kursiwa working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Liwa Kursiwa will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Kursiwa has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kruth's face.
Jorgen Kruth has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! BOOM! Kursiwa connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kursiwa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kruth is looking to escape. Kursiwa landing punches. Kursiwa raining down hammerfists from mount. Kursiwa wants to control the pace but Kruth is squirming around nicely. Kursiwa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kruth is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kursiwa working away from the top, dropping strikes. Kruth manages to regain half guard. Good work. Liwa Kursiwa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kursiwa working the head and body with strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Liwa Kursiwa showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kursiwa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
