Perez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lose Yourself. Gary Perez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mariuz Podolsky's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Perez!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Podolsky tries to close the distance and clinch up but Perez swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Podolsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Podolsky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Perez is looking to stand up but Podolsky isn't so interested in that idea.

Podolsky decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Perez, up you get!

Podolsky closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Podolsky has control of Perez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Perez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Podolsky changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Podolsky tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Podolsky has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Podolsky decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mariuz Podolsky dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Podolsky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Perez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Podolsky takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Perez is trying to break free.
Podolsky drops down looking for an ankle pick but Perez pulls his leg out and moves away.
Podolsky misses with a takedown attempt - Perez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Podolsky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Perez's waist but Perez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Podolsky off to one side.

Gary Perez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Podolsky shoots in for a double leg but Perez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Podolsky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Perez.
A head kick from Perez lands but Podolsky takes it in his stride.
Podolsky looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Perez is fending him off so far but Podolsky persists. Nope, Perez circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mariuz Podolsky will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Podolsky is cranking Perez's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Perez! He's tightened the choke and Perez is tapping out!
