This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Edward Krause! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 4 losses; Hardeep Nijjar! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Nijjar shoots in for a takedown but Krause shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nijjar swats away the attempt to clinch by Krause.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Krause tries to score a body lock takedown but Nijjar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Krause jumps guard.
Krause has control of Nijjar's left arm, preventing Nijjar from doing any damage. Nijjar showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nijjar trying to control but Krause is working from the bottom.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Krause pulls Nijjar in to control the position. Krause's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Krause will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Nijjar wants to pass the guard but Krause is keeping the position. Krause has control of Nijjar's left arm, preventing Nijjar from doing any damage. Krause has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nijjar looking to sit in guard and control but Krause gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Krause (2) vs (0) Nijjar Krause is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This is a sustained period of stalling by Krause. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Nijjar wants to control the position but Krause says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Krause tries to pass to full mount but Nijjar defends it. Krause keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Nijjar wants to get back to full guard. Krause passes to full mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Krause (5) vs (0) Nijjar Krause moves to back control. Score +3 for taking back: Krause (8) vs (0) Nijjar Nijjar is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Krause.
Krause continues to stall.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Nijjar looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Krause has good solid back control here.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Krause keeps control of the position easily here as Nijjar tries to buck him off.

 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Nijjar is in bad spot here.

 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Nijjar right now.
Krause controlling the position well here. Nijjar rolled but Krause kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Nijjar trying to control the position but Krause manages to sink in the hooks. Nijjar tries to escape but Krause has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krause biding his time, controlling Nijjar.
And that's the end of the fight! Krause takes the fight on points by 8 to 0. Our winner, Edward Krause, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. |
