Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shape Shifter (ranked 986 p4p, 1489 weight class) and Kashton Pearce (ranked 124 p4p, 199 weight class). Kashton Pearce has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 22 - 1, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Kashton Pearce!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shifter, pushing him back against the cage.
Shifter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pearce pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pearce has closed the distance and engaged Shifter in a clinch.
A hook to the body from Pearce.
Pearce pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pearce clinches up against the cage.
Shifter has clasped his hands together around Pearce's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Pearce pushes Shifter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shifter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Shifter is trying to get an arm triangle but Pearce is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Pearce's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Pearce is trying to get back to half guard.

Shifter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Shifter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pearce, who protects the arm well.
Shifter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pearce is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shifter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
An elbow from Shifter crashes against the mat.
Pearce can't do much from the bottom here.

Shifter working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Pearce tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shifter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pearce, who protects the arm well.
Pearce parries the strikes from Shifter easily there. Shifter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pearce to escape.
Shifter sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Pearce is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Pearce is trying to improve his position.
Shifter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pearce is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Shifter is controlling him well.

Pearce is looking to reverse the position.
Shifter tries for a kimura but Pearce is defending well.
Pearce is trying to buck Shifter off.
Pearce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shifter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shifter is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Pearce looks calm but he's in trouble here. Shifter gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Pearce is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Shifter lets go of the hold and Pearce can pop his arm back in it's socket.
