Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katsumi Orochi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Orochi.
Alvarez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Orochi throws a lazy head kick
and Alvarez counters with a nice uppercut.
Alvarez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Orochi throws a poor cross that misses
and Alvarez counters with a three punch combo that has Orochi backing up. Orochi nods at Alvarez to acknowledge the strikes.
Alvarez lands with an overhand left.
Alvarez lands a big right hand that sends Orochi crashing to the mat! Alvarez stays standing though and waves Orochi back to his feet!
Orochi is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvarez shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Orochi takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Alvarez sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Orochi bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eddie Alvarez!
Eddie Alvarez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
