Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Luc Gaspard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaspard tries to move into range but Taylor moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Taylor lands with a hook. Gaspard tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mick Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor lands a jab.
Taylor thuds a left hand into Gaspard's body.
Taylor lands a nice looking body shot.
Taylor misses the shot to the body.
Gaspard looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Taylor takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Taylor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gaspard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Taylor is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Gaspard tries to move into range but Taylor moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Taylor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gaspard counters with a nice body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taylor lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Taylor lands a nice shot that snaps Gaspard's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gaspard on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Gaspard is rocked!
Taylor fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gaspard on the side of the head.
Oh Gaspard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taylor has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Gaspard gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Taylor gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mick Taylor!
