PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sven Verdek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker has chosen I stand Alone - Godsmack as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the ring it seems that Sven Verdek has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sven Verdek seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Parker!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker thows a left - swing and a miss!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Verdek.
Parker tries to improve position but can't.
Verdek postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Verdek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Parker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Verdek looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Verdek in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Verdek's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

You can see the frustration on Parker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Verdek looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Parker tries to buck Verdek off but Verdek is having none of it.
Verdek could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Verdek trying to control the action but Parker is working from the bottom.
Parker stops Verdek from passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Verdek throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Parker wants to control but Verdek postures up.

Verdek has an Americana. Parker didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Verdek is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Verdek hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
