Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Diesel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bo Brands!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brands tries to sprawl but Diesel drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Brands wants to control but Diesel is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Diesel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Brands is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Diesel pulls his head out easily.
Diesel is controlling the pace.
Brands wants to improve his position but Diesel is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Diesel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Brands is trying to control but can't.

Diesel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Brands is trying to control but Diesel passes into side control!
Diesel has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Diesel in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brands is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diesel remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Brands tries to control but Diesel manages to take his back.
I really don't envy Brands right now.

Diesel keeps control of the position as Brands tries to break free.

Diesel is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Brands defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Diesel has the hooks in. Brands is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Diesel keeps control of the position easily here as Brands tries to buck him off.
Brands is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Diesel off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Brands tries to escape the position.
Diesel not allowing Brands to control his hands.
Brands is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Diesel.
Brands tries to break free.

Diesel working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Brands is doing well to defend. Diesel seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Brands is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kurt Diesel!
An out of breath Kurt Diesel thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Bo Brands had this to say: 'I will Train Harder and Be Back Better.'.
