Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kazushi Saakuuraabaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simo Haya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haya has chosen Chipmunks - Remember The Name as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kazushi Saakuuraabaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simo Haya!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Saakuuraabaa misses.
Haya lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Haya.
Saakuuraabaa shoots in looking for a takedown. Haya tries to sprawl out of it but Saakuuraabaa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Haya manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kazushi Saakuuraabaa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haya has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haya looks to land a body kick but Saakuuraabaa moved away.
Saakuuraabaa takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

You get the feeling that Haya really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Haya gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Saakuuraabaa stops Haya from standing up.
Saakuuraabaa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Saakuuraabaa wants to control from the top but Haya keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Haya is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Saakuuraabaa is controlling him.

Haya misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Saakuuraabaa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Haya sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Haya shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Saakuuraabaa but Saakuuraabaa pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Haya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Saakuuraabaa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Haya wants to sweep but no luck.
Haya wants to stand up but Saakuuraabaa is controlling him.
Saakuuraabaa's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Saakuuraabaa won't allow Haya to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazushi Saakuuraabaa dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Haya throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Saakuuraabaa.
Haya tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Saakuuraabaa keeps the fight on the outside.
Haya throws a nice looking combination but Saakuuraabaa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Saakuuraabaa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Haya connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kazushi Saakuuraabaa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Haya stuffs the takedown.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Saakuuraabaa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Haya counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Saakuuraabaa is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazushi Saakuuraabaa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Haya doesn't manage to clinch there - Saakuuraabaa circles away.
Saakuuraabaa misses with a takedown
and Haya counters with a three punch combo that has Saakuuraabaa backing up. Saakuuraabaa nods at Haya to acknowledge the strikes.
Haya lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Haya shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Saakuuraabaa keeping moving, preventing Haya from controlling successfully.
Haya is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Saakuuraabaa pulls Haya in close to his closed guard and prevents Haya from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Saakuuraabaa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Haya is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kazushi Saakuuraabaa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Saakuuraabaa seems keen to control Haya's posture.
Haya wants to stand but Saakuuraabaa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haya is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Saakuuraabaa is trying to hold Haya in close to prevent damage but Haya has managed to pass into half guard.

Simo Haya comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Saakuuraabaa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
