The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas misses with a straight left.
Thomas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Montanti circles away quickly and effectively.
Thomas throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Montanti throws the left hand but Thomas avoids the punch easily.
Thomas misses with the combination.
Thomas tries to bum rush Montanti with a series of wild strikes but Montanti uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Thomas lands a head kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Montanti has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Montanti drops Thomas with a beautiful combination! Thomas stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Montanti is looking for the KO!
It looks like Elijah Thomas has been cut.

Montanti cracks Thomas with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Montanti has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Thomas to stand back up!
Thomas is rocked!
Montanti is stalking Thomas. Thomas circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Montanti, and it's lights out! Thomas really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
