Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pope Callixtus!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Angus Young!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Callixtus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Young was covering up waiting for the punch and Callixtus finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Young is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Young is looking for a triangle but Callixtus pushes his legs off easily.
Callixtus controlling from the top position.
Callixtus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Callixtus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Young has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Callixtus has managed to get both his arms back between Young's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young controls Callixtus momentarily but Callixtus frees himself.
Callixtus works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Young manages to get to full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Callixtus's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Young looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Callixtus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Young is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Young working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Callixtus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Young is tightening it up a little... Callixtus has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Callixtus reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Callixtus taps out! Nice BJJ there by Young!
