Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marchrius Rossi (ranked 2358 p4p, 3271 weight class) and Damian Dilbrandt (ranked 252 p4p, 332 weight class). Rossi comes to the cage accompanied by Metal Slug Theme. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Marchrius Rossi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Dilbrandt!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dilbrandt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rossi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dilbrandt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rossi misses with an uppercut
and Dilbrandt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rossi misses with a head kick.
Dilbrandt takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Dilbrandt misses with an uppercut.
Dilbrandt throws a leg kick that misses.
Rossi throws a predictable looking body shot
and Dilbrandt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rossi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Damian Dilbrandt has been cut.
Dilbrandt looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Dilbrandt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rossi was well out of range. Poor timing from Dilbrandt.

We've been told by Rossi's head coaches at The Nonce Hunters that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dilbrandt lands with an uppercut that bounces Rossi off the cage and back into range.

Rossi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dilbrandt sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dilbrandt throws a leg kick which misses Rossi's front leg but catches the back leg as Rossi tries to avoid it.
Dilbrandt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A nice leg kick from Dilbrandt, right into the meat of the thigh.

Rossi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Dilbrandt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Rossi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dilbrandt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rossi misses with a looping left.
Dilbrandt only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Rossi checks a low kick from Dilbrandt.
Rossi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dilbrandt's head.
A head kick from Rossi lands but Dilbrandt takes it in his stride.
Dilbrandt throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rossi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rossi ducks under a wild hook from Dilbrandt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dilbrandt tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rossi counters with a straight right hand.
Rossi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Rossi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dilbrandt thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rossi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dilbrandt feints the counter takedown.

Dilbrandt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dilbrandt creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Dilbrandt is trying to maintain a safe position but Rossi gets an underhook and turns Dilbrandt into the cage.

Dilbrandt tries to work over Rossi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Dilbrandt swings wildly with an uppercut but Rossi uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dilbrandt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rossi throws a good cross that connects.
Rossi throws a head kick but Dilbrandt moves out of range.
Dilbrandt steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rossi.
Dilbrandt clobbers Rossi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Dilbrandt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rossi throws out the jab.
Dilbrandt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rossi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rossi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Dilbrandt throws out a counter right but Rossi avoids it with no problem.
Dilbrandt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rossi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dilbrandt lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Dilbrandt throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Rossi throws a hook but Dilbrandt avoids it easily.
Dilbrandt's corner calls for a 1-2. Dilbrandt obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Dilbrandt throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
An attempted straight right counter from Rossi misses the target.
Rossi has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Rossi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dilbrandt.

Dilbrandt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rossi.
Rossi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dilbrandt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Dilbrandt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rossi.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dilbrandt. Rossi does a little dance to reset his feet.

Damian Dilbrandt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

enabling Rossi to counter with a crisp jab.

Dilbrandt scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rossi misses with a hook.
Rossi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Dilbrandt throws the left hand but Rossi avoids the punch easily.
Rossi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dilbrandt.
Damian Dilbrandt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Rossi throws a lazy right hand but Dilbrandt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dilbrandt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dilbrandt throws the left hand but Rossi avoids the punch easily.

Dilbrandt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rossi doesn't seem bothered though.

Damian Dilbrandt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dilbrandt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Damian Dilbrandt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Marchrius Rossi spoke after the fight, saying 'Hats off to James best manager in the game this can crusher is a bum im retiring cause ive got no chin in abit'.
