Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Black!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has O Brien pinned against the cage. O Brien gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
O Brien misses with a body kick.
Black moves forwards but O Brien connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts O Brien as he jumps to the side.
A big right from Black misses.
O Brien connects with a solid leg kick.
Black tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but O Brien swivels and escapes.
Miles O Brien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Devon Black.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

O Brien throws a counter high kick but Black was just alert enough to avoid it.
O Brien throws a nice looking combination but Black bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Miles O Brien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black takes a swing at O Brien's ribcage but misses.
O Brien throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Black sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Black lands with an uppercut that bounces O Brien off the cage and back into range.

O Brien tries a head kick but it misses.
Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but O Brien manages to avoid it.
Black fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Black shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with O Brien but O Brien pushes him off and we're back to square one.
O Brien is looking to counter punch.
Black slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
O Brien takes a body punch but keeps moving.
O Brien tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Black misses the jab.
Black throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
O Brien misses with a lunging right hand

and Black counters with a single leg into guard. O Brien didn't expect that.
Black trying to control the position from guard on top but O Brien is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
O Brien keeping full guard, as Black tries to pass.
O Brien is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

O Brien preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
O Brien keeping moving, preventing Black from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black stands and throws O Brien's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Black trying to control the position but O Brien is working away.
Black content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

O Brien tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Black wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
O Brien is trying to control Black's posture but Black avoids it.

Black is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but O Brien is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Black wants to control but O Brien is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
O Brien managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Black.
O Brien holds on to Black's head and controls the position momentarily.
Black throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and O Brien works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
O Brien is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Black scores with a couple of nice shots.

Black wants to control from the top but O Brien keeps moving.

O Brien is controlling Black's posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
O Brien swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Black.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Black.
O Brien jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Black misses with a body shot.
O Brien getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Black checks a leg kick.
O Brien takes a swing at Black's ribcage but misses.
O Brien is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
O Brien paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Black is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. O Brien knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

O Brien sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
O Brien is staying active underneath Black, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Black is trying to work for a kimura but O Brien is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Black takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Black is still on wobbly legs! Can O Brien finish him?
O Brien uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Black.
O Brien cracks Black with a hook to the temple - Black is on wobbly legs here! O Brien swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Black falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! O Brien wins by TKO!
