PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freaky Trevor (ranked 2799 p4p, 2872 weight class) and Rhys Cadwgan (ranked 217 p4p, 220 weight class). Cadwgan has chosen Squeeze the Fruit - The Commodores as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cadwgan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Trevor ducks under a wild hook from Cadwgan.

Trevor clinches up against the cage.

Cadwgan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cadwgan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cadwgan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cadwgan slips a straight right by Trevor.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trevor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cadwgan throws out a counter right but Trevor avoids it with no problem.
No joy there for Cadwgan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Trevor has Cadwgan up against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trevor blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Cadwgan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Trevor has him pressed against the cage.
Cadwgan pushes off an throws an elbow but Trevor leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

The referee calls for Trevor to work.
Cadwgan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cadwgan swings wildly with an uppercut but Trevor uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cadwgan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Cadwgan is trying to drag Trevor to the mat but Trevor just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Trevor jumps guard and drags Cadwgan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Trevor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cadwgan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Trevor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cadwgan defends it easily.
Cadwgan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cadwgan is sitting in close to Trevor's body. Trevor has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Cadwgan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Cadwgan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Trevor.
