Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Couture (ranked 3288 p4p, 3578 weight class) and Davis Riley (ranked 216 p4p, 228 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Couture sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Riley's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Riley duly obliges.
Couture bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Riley's head backwards.
Couture looks to land a right hand but Riley moved out of range.
As Couture backs off Riley throws a huge counter combo but Couture manages to avoid it all.
Couture throws a poor cross that misses
and Riley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Couture jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Riley throws a hook but Couture blocks it.
Riley slaps away a takedown attempt from Couture, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Riley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Couture throws a hook but Riley blocks it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Riley counters with a one-two to the body.

Couture is rocked!
Couture dips to his left and cracks Riley with an uppercut!
Oh Couture is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Riley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Couture has closed the distance and engaged Riley in a clinch.
Couture seems to have got his legs back now.
Riley has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Couture wants to take the fight to the mat but Riley manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Riley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Couture doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Couture will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Riley up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Couture for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Couture drops down looking for an ankle pick but Riley pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Couture. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Riley throws a series of punches but Couture moves out of range.

Couture shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Couture lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Riley is staying active underneath Couture, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Couture thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Riley's head.
Couture wants to control but Riley is keeping him busy.

Couture is nestled in close to Riley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Riley is refusing to be controlled, as Couture sits in half guard.
Riley pushes Couture off looking to stand but Couture dives back in and keeps control.
Couture throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Riley has hold of Couture's hands but Couture slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Couture takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Couture looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Couture throwing shots but Riley is blocking nicely.
Riley is in trouble now - Couture has advanced to mount!
Couture looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Couture lands with some strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture cracks Riley with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Riley is still in real trouble! Can Couture finish him?
Couture softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Riley is out cold! Couture jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
