Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nasty Man (ranked 2424 p4p, 22729 weight class) and Jake Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Berzerk by Eminem. Jake Peterson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Man, as that shot connected.
Peterson takes a jab right on the kisser.
A swing and a miss from Man.
And Peterson tries to counter it with a takedown but Man pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Man has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Man there as he acknowledges the shot.
Peterson misses with a combination
and Man counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Peterson thinking.
Peterson dives in for a single leg takedown but Man sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It looked like Man was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Peterson.
Peterson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Man circles away.
Peterson tries to move into range but Man moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Peterson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Man counters with a left to the body.
Peterson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Man swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Peterson.
Man looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jab, jab by Man - just one landing.

It looks like Jake Peterson has been cut.
Man jabs Peterson right on the nose. Peterson blinks but takes it well.

Peterson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Man to the ground. Peterson is now in Man's guard.
Man is pulling down on Peterson's head to control his posture.
Peterson stopping the sweep attempt from Man.
Peterson wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving.
Man wants to sweep but no luck.

Man is adopting a defensive guard.
Man looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Peterson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Man is on top in guard.

Peterson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Man controls the pace.
Man wants to pass the guard but Peterson is keeping the position.
Man stays in close to Peterson's body and controls the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Man stands up and waves to Peterson to follow him.
Man waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Peterson.
Man scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Peterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Peterson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Man circles away quickly and effectively.
Peterson fails with the takedown.
Nasty Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Peterson.
Peterson throws a series of punches but Man moves out of range.
Man ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Man fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Peterson on the side of the head.
Peterson wants to clinch up but Man keeps it at a distance.
Man with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Peterson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nasty Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Peterson looks winded!

and Man makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Man connects with a single shot there.
Peterson fails to land with a series of punches.
Man swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Man connects with a jab.
Peterson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Man counters with a stiff right hand.
A jab lands there for Man.
Man cracks Peterson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Peterson is rocked!

and Man counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Peterson is still on wobbly legs! Can Man finish him?
Peterson drops his hands momentarily. Man doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Peterson staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Peterson doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
