Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Banks (ranked 2416 p4p, 2456 weight class) and Martin Niblett (ranked 289 p4p, 296 weight class). Martin Niblett will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Glenn Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Martin Niblett!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Niblett.
Niblett bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Banks's head backwards.
Niblett looks to land a combination. Banks sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Niblett jabs Banks to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Banks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Niblett fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Niblett misses with a two punch combination.
Niblett lands with a hook. Banks tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Danga de danga de dang - Niblett scores with a four punch combination!
Niblett misses with a wild body shot.
Banks feinted with a counter takedown.
Niblett lands with a good body shot.
A punch combination from Niblett misses.
Banks attempts a counter takedown but Niblett avoids it well and moves away.
Banks checks a leg kick.

Niblett lands a right hook to the body.

Banks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Niblett is trying to defend but Banks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Banks definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Niblett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Banks thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Niblett's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Banks connects with a nice short shot to Niblett's temple.
Banks missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Niblett is controlling Banks's trapped leg to prevent Banks from advancing to side control.
Banks is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Banks slips a nice elbow through Niblett's hands, connecting with Niblett's forehead.

Banks drops an elbow to the side of Niblett's head.
Niblett pushes Banks off looking to stand but Banks dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banks sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Niblett defending well though.
Niblett keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Banks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Niblett wants to control but Banks is keeping busy.
Banks working the head and body with strikes.
Banks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Niblett has hold of Banks's hands but Banks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Banks slips a nice elbow through Niblett's hands, connecting with Niblett's forehead.

Niblett is rocked!

Banks scores with a big shot! Niblett's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Niblett! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glenn Banks!
