The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cleever on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

It looks like Miet Cleever has been cut.
Godwin just misses with a punch to the body.
Cleever takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've been told by Cleever's head coaches at Hare of the Dog Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Godwin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cleever has time to react.
Godwin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Cleever misses with a left hand
and Godwin counters with a straight right hand.
Cleever connects with the punch.

Godwin moves into the clinch successfully.
Godwin misses with a body punch.
Godwin tries to throw a body punch but Cleever avoids it by throwing Godwin back against the cage.
Cleever lands a body punch.
Cleever misses with a hook from the clinch.
Cleever lands with a short punch from the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cleever breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cleever paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Godwin throws a sloppy body shot
and Godwin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Basko Godwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Godwin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cleever counters with a crisp right that sends Godwin to the canvas! Cleever follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
