And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 64 losses; David McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kulik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kulik got a little sloppy there for a moment and McDonald has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kulik has managed to get both his arms back between McDonald's legs - danger averted.
Kulik really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kulik slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Kulik's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

McDonald rolls, trying to escape but Kulik keeps control of the position.
McDonald is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
You can see the frustration on McDonald's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

What can McDonald do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

I really don't envy McDonald right now.

McDonald is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Kulik.
Kulik seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McDonald for as long as he can get away with.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Vasiliy Kulik seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
