Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stan Man (ranked 1602 p4p, 642 weight class) and Mer Lo (ranked 119 p4p, 46 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 2, fighting out of London, Stan Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mer Lo!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Man with a lazy takedown attempt
and Lo counters with a left to the body.
Man looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Man throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lo's waist but Lo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Man off to one side.
Lo is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Man with a body shot.
Lo scores with a jab to the jaw.
Man takes one to the side of the head.
Man wants to clinch
and Lo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Man shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Lo to counter with a crisp jab.
Lo looks to land a combination but Man avoids it well.

Man fails to land the takedown.
Stan Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lo lands with a nice body punch.
Man fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A jab from Lo does it's job there.
Man walks into a left hand.

Man shoots for a double leg takedown but Lo sprawls well. He's pushed Man's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lo, as that shot connected.
Man takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Man looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lo is fending him off so far but Man persists. Nope, Lo circles away and we're back to standing.

and Lo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jab, jab by Lo - just one landing.

Man takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Man.
Man shoots and misses
and Man takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Man shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lo but Lo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Man walks into a straight right hand from Lo.
Man fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lo lands a jab-cross combination.
Lo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Man had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Lo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Man backs up against the cage.
Lo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lo stalks Man and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Man's face. Man staggers backwards, shaken.
Mer Lo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Man misses with a wild combination.
Lo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mer Lo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Lo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Lo scores with a shot to the side of Man's head.
Lo presses Man against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Lo working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Man tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lo smiles and moves away.
Mer Lo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man goes for a double leg but Lo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lo continues to drive forward.
Lo doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lo prevents a takedown attempt there.
Man tries to pull guard but Lo won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Man jumps guard but Lo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Lo is fighting off a takedown attempt but Man is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lo to the mat. Lo regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Lo is looking for a triangle but Man pushes his legs off easily.
Man loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lo has his foot on Man's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Man works his way back into a safe position though.

Lo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Man is aware though and is defending well.

Man avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Man controlling from the top position.
Lo controlling Man's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Man throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Man is in close to Lo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lo is adopting a defensive guard.

Man has gone for a leg lock! Lo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Man's guard.

Lo wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving.
Lo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ground and pound from Lo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Man trying to remain calm as Lo controls from the top position.
Man gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Man avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lo.
Man trying to control from the bottom.
Man tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lo manages to move to mount!
Mer Lo has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Man keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mer Lo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Man shoots in looking for a takedown. Lo tries to sprawl out of it but Man keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Man is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lo to keep the fight standing.

Man drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Man backwards.
A body shot lands from Lo.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Still in the clinch, Lo scores with a nice short uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice right hand lands inside from Lo.
Lo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Man tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lo smiles and moves away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lo!
Man takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Good exchange - Lo coming out on top.

Lo punishes Man's body with a nice straight punch.
Lo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Man shoots and misses
and Man takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lo catches Man with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Lo connects with a body shot that sends Man's belly button to the back.
Stan Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Man with a poor takedown
and Lo counters with a straight right hand.
Lo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Man is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Man is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Lo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lo connects with a nice looking jab.

Man is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oh Man is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mer Lo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Man seems to have got his legs back now.

Stan Man has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Lo closes the distance and pushes Man back into the cage.
Lo is pressed up against the cage. Man has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lo down to the mat. Lo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Man misses with a combination
and Lo counters with a lovely straight right hand!

And that's the end of the fight!
Mer Lo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
