Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Howie Dewitt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dennis Rader!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rader throws a wild body kick that Dewitt sees coming a mile off.
A little feinted left hand from Dewitt on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Rader gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Dewitt counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rader's knee momentarily.
Dennis Rader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rader scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rader throws a lazy body kick
and Dewitt connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Dennis Rader has been cut.
Rader throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dewitt is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rader.
Rader just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Dewitt counters with a nice right hand that sends Rader toppling to the canvas! Rader scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dewitt finish him?!

and Dewitt counters with a crisp right hand that drops Rader! Dewitt lets Rader back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Rader is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rader is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rader swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dewitt seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rader tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dewitt appears to be looking for a big counter.

As Rader tries to get set, Dewitt tries to push him back and clinch up but Rader manages to avoid the attempt.

Rader pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It appears Dewitt was looking to counter with a kick there.

Dewitt was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Rader throws an overhand right that lands on Dewitt's shoulder, as Dewitt tries to avoid the shot.
Rader lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dewitt circles away quickly and effectively.

And Dewitt counters with a quick kick to the body but Rader blocks it.
Rader misses with a low kick as Dewitt jumps back.
A quick step to the side and Dewitt tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've been told by Dewitt's head coaches at Chikara MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rader scores with a kick to the midsection.
Rader throws a front kick that sends Dewitt stumbling back into the cage.
Rader thows a body kick. Dewitt tries to catch it but that hurt him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rader fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dewitt on the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rader looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dewitt wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Dewitt might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Rader goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rader throws out a loose jab but Dewitt uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dewitt throws a quick counter kick to the body but Rader avoids it.

That has opened up Dennis Rader's cut even more.
Rader can't find room to land a body shot as Dewitt controls the action.
Dewitt will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Rader swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dewitt cracks Rader with a nice body shot.

Dewitt drops Rader onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Rader is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
The fighters are playing wrist control here with Rader pressed against the cage. Dewitt frees himself up and cracks Rader with an uppercut straight from the bowels of hell! Rader crumples to the floor, out cold! Dewitt jumps on to the cage and takes in the roar of the crowd! That was nasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Howie Dewitt!
A relieved looking Howie Dewitt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
