The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Maica here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Maica ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Maica clips Pealike with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Pealike a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

It looks like Cornbread Pealike has been cut.
Maica is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pealike can do to turn this around?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maica fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pealike has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Pealike misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pealike throws a poor cross that misses
and Maica counters with a right, followed by a huge uppercut that sends Pealike crashing to the mat! Pealike is trying to use the ropes to get back to his feet but he's all over the place - the referee has seen enough and has stopped the fight! Maica screams with a mixture of joy and relief, whilst celebrating with his cornermen.
