Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blade Rox (ranked 25592 p4p, 5233 weight class) and Jun Young Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blade Rox has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Blade Rox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jun Young Hong!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong misses with a few strikes there.
Rox wants to clinch up but Hong keeps it at a distance.
Hong avoids the head kick by Rox.
Rox shoots in for a takedown but Hong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rox closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hong circles away.
Rox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hong pinned against the cage. Hong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blade Rox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rox walks into a straight right hand from Hong.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hong tries to bum rush Rox with a series of wild strikes but Rox uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rox appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Rox tries to clinch but Hong is having none of it.

Hong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rox goes for a double leg but Hong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hong continues to drive forward.

Hong successfully pulls guard.
Hong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Hong looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hong working over Rox with some ground and pound. Rox looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Rox has hold of Hong's hands but Hong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Hong wants to take a breather but Rox is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Hong is working for a kimura but Rox is defending it quite comfortably.

Rox trying to hold on to Hong's head to control him but Hong postures up.
Hong slows the pace down in half guard.
Hong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rox wants to improve his position but Hong is controlling well.
Hong drops an elbow to the side of Rox's head.

Hong is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hong scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Rox keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hong working over Rox with some ground and pound. Rox looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hong drops an elbow to the side of Rox's head.
Hong lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hong lands with a punch from half guard.

Rox has hold of Hong's hands but Hong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Hong is working for a submission of some sort.

Hong is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rox doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hong.
Rox is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hong scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ground and pound from Hong.
Hong content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jun Young Hong dominated that round.
That's time! Rox's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hong pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rox back to the cage. Hong follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hong lands a high kick!
Blade Rox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rox throws a big shot that misses.
Hong tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hong scores with a shot to the body.
Rox misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rox throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hong counters with a series of strikes. Rox will be more careful next time no doubt.

Rox moves into the clinch.
Hong has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hong tries to score a body lock takedown but Rox shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hong has Rox pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rox manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rox is looking to break free of the clinch but Hong has double underhooks.
Hong can't get the takedown.
Blade Rox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jun Young Hong.
Rox managing to block the knees to the body from Hong.
Hong drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rox is trying to drag Hong to the mat but Hong just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hong pulls Rox into guard.

Hong has his foot on Rox's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rox works his way back into a safe position though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hong connects with a nice short shot to Rox's temple.

Hong winds up and cracks Rox with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hong is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Rox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hong on the ground.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hong connects with a nice short shot to Rox's temple.

Hong is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hong content just to control the position here.
Rox keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The referee warns Rox that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rox looks a forlorn figure.
Hong is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hong pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hong lands with some strikes.
Hong lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Hong landing punches.
Rox is desperately trying to improve his position but Hong has a good base and remains in mount.
Hong scoring with strikes but Rox is staying in there.

Rox is rocked!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Oh Rox is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hong postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Rox bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Hong and the fight is over!
