PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gen Tenryu (ranked 224 p4p, 610 weight class) and Cathal Doherty (ranked 31 p4p, 73 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tenryu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to piri & tommy - on & on. Doherty has chosen Jeremy- Pearl Jam as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cathal Doherty!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty misses with a jab to the body
and Tenryu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Doherty throws a body punch but Tenryu moves out of range.
Doherty with a jab.
Tenryu walks into a left hand.
A big left from Tenryu misses.
Doherty misses with a body shot.
Tenryu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Doherty throws out the jab.
Tenryu lands with a cross.
Doherty avoids the body shot from Tenryu.
A lazy left from Doherty finds it's target.
Tenryu walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Doherty lands a big head kick that sends Tenryu tumbling to the mat! Doherty takes a step backwards and waves Tenryu back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Sloppy strikes from Tenryu. Those never looked like landing.
Oh Tenryu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Doherty ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tenryu seems to have got his legs back now.
Doherty throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tenryu.
Tenryu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Tenryu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doherty fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Tenryu to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Tenryu looks to clinch but Doherty throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Tenryu taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
