Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leon Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Lockwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Lockwood.
Pierre shoots in but no luck this time.
A good leg kick by Lockwood.
Pierre fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lockwood as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lockwood misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lockwood throws a sloppy head kick and Pierre moves out of range easily.

Lockwood fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pierre on the side of the head.
Lockwood misses with a looping left.
Pierre takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown but Lockwood shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pierre closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lockwood makes his way to full guard, as Pierre worked for a kimura.
Pierre is breathing heavily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lockwood holds on and takes a little breather.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierre stopping the sweep attempt from Lockwood.

Pierre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lockwood dives on top into guard.
Lockwood not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Pierre has his foot on Lockwood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lockwood works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lockwood sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pierre's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pierre keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Chad Lockwood just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pierre stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lockwood.
Lockwood fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lockwood scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Whack! Lockwood lands a heavy head kick that drops Pierre. The ref tackles Lockwood to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Pierre was done.
