Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Mato (ranked 4774 p4p, 4478 weight class) and Hulk Smash (ranked 459 p4p, 445 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mato closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mato lands in his opponent's guard.

Mato drives through and clinches with Smash against the cage.

Smash sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mato's guard.
Hulk Smash has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mato wants to control but Smash is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Smash landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smash in particular looking to stall.
Smash's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Mato tries to get to full guard but Smash has control of the leg.
Smash winds up and cracks Mato with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mato is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smash's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smash's back!
Smash wants to control his opponent's hands but Mato gets his hands free.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Smash shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Smash was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Smash is taking a breather. Mato says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Smash has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Smash seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hulk Smash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smash has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
