Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luan Mesquita (ranked 1876 p4p, 3175 weight class) and Frank Whitaker (ranked 232 p4p, 346 weight class). Frank Whitaker struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitaker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mesquita uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Whitaker has time to react.
Mesquita looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
