Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tahboule Alawi (ranked 2093 p4p, 4295 weight class) and Tyrann Madden (ranked 161 p4p, 277 weight class). Alawi comes to the cage accompanied by The Ruler of Everything. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyrann Madden!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alawi.

Alawi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Madden tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alawi is in Madden's guard.

Madden felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madden tries to kick Alawi off but Alawi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Alawi is taking a breather. Madden says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Madden can do anything to dispel that myth.
Alawi tries to pass to full mount but Madden defends it.
Alawi is controlling the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Madden looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Madden throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alawi on the side of the head.
Madden scores with the left hand. Alawi knows he should have avoided that one.
Madden missing with a left hand there. Alawi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Alawi tries for a takedown but Madden sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Alawi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Alawi drops his hands momentarily and Madden takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Madden throws a lazy right hand but Alawi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alawi blocks the body kick.
Alawi appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

A slow jab from Madden misses its intended target.

and Alawi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alawi tries to free his leg and advance position but Madden is retaining full guard.

Alawi won't allow Madden to get back to his feet.
Alawi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madden swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alawi's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Alawi wants to control from the top but Madden keeps moving.
Alawi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Alawi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Madden!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tahboule Alawi will probably get the nod.

Madden sends Alawi crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Madden is motioning to the referee to let Alawi up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Alawi is rocked!
Madden looks to score with a jab to the body but Alawi is just out of range.
Oh Alawi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Madden misses with a looping left.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Madden knocks out Alawi with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Madden before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Madden picks up the big W with a huge KO!
