Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ric Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viljo Laine!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laine scores with a jab to the jaw.
Laine pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Laine works Austin's body with a nice hook.
No joy there for Laine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Austin gets caught flat footed, as Laine shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Austin throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Laine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Laine content to stall in guard here.
Laine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Austin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Austin tries to strike from the bottom.
Laine won't allow Austin to sweep him here.
Austin is working hard here to advance position.
Austin is breathing heavily.
Laine is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Laine gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Laine swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Laine misses with the combination.
Laine lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Austin misses with a kick to the body.
Laine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Austin.
Austin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Ric Austin has been cut.
Austin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Laine counters with a one-two to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Laine punishes Austin's body with a nice straight punch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Laine.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Laine lands with a right hand.
Laine scores with a sloppy right hand. Austin should have avoided that one.
Laine has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Austin looks up at the clock. Bad move! Laine lands a right hand from hell, dropping Austin. Laine pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Viljo Laine!
