Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Brice (ranked 4074 p4p, 4072 weight class) and Jeffery Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stephen Brice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeffery Kent!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brice clinches up with Kent and pushes him back against the cage.
Kent can't break the clinch.
Kent can't get the takedown.

Brice breaks from the clinch.
Brice misses with a wild combination.
No luck for Brice with that takedown attempt.
Kent goes for a double leg but Brice avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brice continues to drive forward.
Brice throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Brice fails to land the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brice shoots in for a takedown but Kent shows good takedown defense.

Brice shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kent pinned against the cage. Kent gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kent takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Brice throws a head kick but Kent moves out of range.

Brice rushes Kent and presses him up against the cage.
Kent misses with a knee strike.

Kent manages to pull guard.
Brice slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Brice wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.

Brice stops Kent from standing up.
Brice passes into half guard.
Brice wants to get back to his feet.
Brice content to control rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kent gets tackled into the cage by Brice. Brice maintains the clinch.
Kent gets underhooks to prevent Brice's takedown attempt.
Kent prevents a body shot from Brice.
Brice lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Brice wants to take the fight to the mat but Kent manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Brice keeps control of Kent as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brice gets underhooks to prevent Kent's takedown attempt.
Brice tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kent just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kent gets a clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kent swats away the attempt to clinch by Brice.
Kent stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kent wants it to stay on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kent.
Brice is looking to counter with head kicks.
No luck for Brice with that takedown attempt.
Brice circles away from the clinch attempt
and Brice counters with a good low kick that Kent was not able to check.

Kent closes the distance and clinches up with Brice, looking for a takedown. Kent pushes Brice against the cage but Brice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kent shoots in but Brice avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Brice sets himself, and Kent steps forward looking for the clinch! Brice avoids it this time.

Brice thuds his shin into the meat of Kent's side.

Brice misses with a takedown attempt - Kent sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stephen Brice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kent tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Brice counters with a left to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kent throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brice's waist but Brice gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kent off to one side.
Brice shoots for a takedown but Kent saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Kent counters with a series of strikes. Brice will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kent goes for a double leg but Brice avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brice continues to drive forward.
Kent shoots in looking for a takedown. Brice tries to sprawl out of it but Kent keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brice manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Brice changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kent fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kent tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brice defends well and Kent ends up having to push Brice into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kent dives in for a single leg takedown but Brice sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
As Kent tries to get set, Brice tries to push him back and clinch up but Kent manages to avoid the attempt.

Brice forces Kent back against the cage and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Kent's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Brice breaks the clinch.
Brice fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brice is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kent pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Kent tries to get set, Brice tries to push him back and clinch up but Kent manages to avoid the attempt.
Stephen Brice is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brice stuffs the takedown attempt from Kent. Kent gets slowly back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stephen Brice will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brice tries to avoid it but Kent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brice to the ground. Brice escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Brice is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kent can do to turn this around?
Brice jumps guard but Kent turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Brice is trying to maintain a safe position but Kent gets an underhook and turns Brice into the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brice passes into half guard.
Brice is trying to control. Kent wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kent is trying to stand back up but Brice is controlling him
Kent has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brice is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kent clinches with his opponent.
Kent tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brice just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kent pulls guard successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brice trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom.
Brice is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kent pushes Brice off and scrambles back to his feet.

Brice takes the fight into the clinch.

Kent ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kent no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Brice will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kent wants to stand up but Brice is controlling him.

Brice stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kent fails with the takedown.
Brice shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Brice rushes Kent and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Brice stalling.
Jeffery Kent has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stephen Brice is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kent looks to throw an elbow but misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jeffery Kent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brice has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
