PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Judah Wilcox (ranked 3415 p4p, 4014 weight class) and Eishuu Retsu (ranked 367 p4p, 413 weight class). Eishuu Retsu will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Judah Wilcox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eishuu Retsu!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilcox misses with a straight left.
Eishuu Retsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilcox connects with a nice short shot to Retsu's temple.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Retsu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wilcox takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Retsu throws a push kick but Wilcox slaps the foot to one side.

Retsu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Wilcox goes for a double leg but Retsu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Retsu continues to drive forward.
