PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Dawson (ranked 1067 p4p, 954 weight class) and David Goldberg (ranked 133 p4p, 116 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that David Goldberg was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldberg lands the left hand.
Goldberg swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dawson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Goldberg takes a swing at Dawson's ribcage but misses.
A little feinted left hand from Dawson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Goldberg manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dawson on his heels. He'll look to pass Dawson's guard now, I'm sure.
Goldberg works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dawson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Goldberg looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Goldberg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Goldberg seems to be working for a kimura but Dawson defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goldberg looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Goldberg scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Goldberg is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Dawson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

A very excited looking David Goldberg rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
