Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Lingfield (ranked 1193 p4p, 2204 weight class) and Kimmo Peramaki (ranked 153 p4p, 246 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jim Lingfield has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jim Lingfield seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Lingfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kimmo Peramaki!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peramaki lands a jab-cross combination.
Lingfield slips a jab from Peramaki.
Peramaki looks to land a left hand but Lingfield moved out of range nicely.
Peramaki keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lingfield.
Lingfield ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Peramaki looks to land a combination. Lingfield sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Lingfield shoots in and gets a takedown into Peramaki's guard.
Lingfield keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Peramaki's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lingfield wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Peramaki, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lingfield shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peramaki pinned against the cage. Peramaki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lingfield has hold of one of Peramaki's legs. Peramaki is fighting the takedown attempt but Lingfield gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Lingfield got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peramaki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lingfield has managed to get both his arms back between Peramaki's legs - danger averted.

Peramaki isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lingfield stacks Peramaki on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lingfield!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lingfield is pressing down on Peramaki's thigh, looking to free his foot. Peramaki is holding on for now.
Lingfield is trying to control. Peramaki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lingfield connects with a nice short shot to Peramaki's temple.

Peramaki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lingfield looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Peramaki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lingfield, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jim Lingfield decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
