Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Finley Cowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Preston!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowan takes a swing at Preston's ribcage but misses.
Cowan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Preston misses with a looping left.
Cowan shoots for a double leg takedown but Preston sprawls well. He's pushed Cowan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cowan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cowan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Preston.
A head kick misses from Cowan.
Preston cracks Cowan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cowan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Preston tries to avoid it but Cowan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Preston to the ground. Preston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cowan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Preston defends well and Cowan ends up having to push Preston into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Preston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cowan is looking to wear down Preston with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Cowan tries to move into range but Preston moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Cowan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Preston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cowan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cowan gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Cowan tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Preston is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Cowan buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Cowan!! Cowan is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Preston throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
