The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaveri drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Salama struggling a bit here.
Salama is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kaveri off and has taken his back!

Salama is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kaveri has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Kaveri turns into Salama and is now in his guard.

Salama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kaveri gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kaveri drops back looking for a leg! Salama is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Salama manages to kick Kaveri off! Kaveri jumps back into Salama's guard.

Kaveri is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kaveri avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kaveri is pushing down on Salama's leg trying to pass to half guard. Salama is fighting to maintain full guard but Kaveri has managed to sneak the leg through.

Salama is looking to improve his position.

Kaveri is working for a kimura but Salama is defending it quite comfortably.

Salama actively working from the bottom here.

Kaveri looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Salama looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
My spies in LazyFighters Gym inform me that Kaveri has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Keskikokoinen Kaveri decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
