Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Pierre (ranked 2370 p4p, 2114 weight class) and Showtime Sitsongrit (ranked 268 p4p, 244 weight class). Pierre's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, O Canada. Sitsongrit has chosen ศึกษานารี - LABANOON as his entrance music. George Pierre had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Showtime Sitsongrit!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sitsongrit slips a jab and a cross from Pierre.
Pierre lands with a shot to the body.
Pierre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I've been told that Sitsongrit has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Pierre has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Pierre stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Sitsongrit throws up his legs and catches Pierre in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Pierre tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Sitsongrit! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Showtime Sitsongrit!
Showtime Sitsongrit tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
