Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Townsend (ranked 3742 p4p, 5609 weight class) and Nickolas Haley (ranked 202 p4p, 265 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pedro Townsend!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nickolas Haley!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Townsend lands a jab to Haley's midsection.

Townsend fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Haley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Townsend shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Haley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Townsend swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Our sources have told us that Townsend has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Sloppy strikes from Haley. Those never looked like landing.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Townsend lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Haley has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Haley and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Haley lands with an uppercut that bounces Townsend off the cage and back into range.
Haley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Haley is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Townsend had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Haley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Townsend manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Haley's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Haley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Haley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Townsend moves forwards but Haley connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Townsend throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Townsend walks straight into a right hand from Haley - that's dropped him! Haley jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Townsend from any more punishment! Townsend complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Nickolas Haley!
