Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gotrek Gurnisson (ranked 5711 p4p, 4940 weight class) and Argus Reynolds (ranked 299 p4p, 276 weight class). Argus Reynolds is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Argus Reynolds has been cut.

Reynolds throws a body shot but no joy.

Gurnisson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Reynolds.
Reynolds with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gurnisson to score with a decent uppercut.

Gurnisson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gurnisson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Reynolds is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gurnisson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Gurnisson is not going to allow Reynolds to sit and survive in this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gurnisson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Gurnisson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gurnisson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Reynolds for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
