Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derwent Bolt (ranked 1439 p4p, 1480 weight class) and Rakeem Marley (ranked 201 p4p, 204 weight class). Marley has chosen Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock as his entrance music. Rakeem Marley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derwent Bolt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rakeem Marley!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolt misses with a hook. Marley ducked under it nicely.
As Bolt backs off Marley throws a huge counter combo but Bolt manages to avoid it all.
Bolt tries for a takedown but Marley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bolt shoots in but no luck this time.
Marley looks to score with a jab to the body but Bolt is just out of range.
Bolt feinted with a counter takedown.
Bolt takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bolt. Marley does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bolt uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Marley.
Bolt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Marley is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Marley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bolt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marley swivels and escapes.
Marley is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derwent Bolt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bolt catches Marley with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Bolt shoots in and bounces Marley off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bolt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Marley is looking to stand back up but Bolt counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Marley.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bolt landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bolt is working away from the top position though.

Bolt in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Marley tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bolt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Derwent Bolt!
Derwent Bolt was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
