The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Njagi dives in and grabs Gracie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes down on Njagi's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Njagi or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie, which made it look bad.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Njagi quickly recovers to half guard.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Njagi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Njagi's legs - danger averted.

We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Njagi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Njagi has Gracie in his guard.
