Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Stak (ranked 2327 p4p, 4473 weight class) and Robert Scott (ranked 290 p4p, 458 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Stak!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Scott!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott avoids the head kick by Stak.
No luck for Scott with that takedown attempt.
Stak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stak falls off balance throwing a combination

so Scott counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Stak trying to keep a closed guard but Scott is proving a slippery customer.
Scott throwing strikes from guard but Stak blocks nicely.
Stak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Scott on the ground.
Stak is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stak is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Stak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Scott is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Stak is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Stak lands a body punch.
Stak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Scott jumps guard but Stak turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stak stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Stak.
Stak looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Stak throws an elbow but it misses.
Stak is trying to break the clinch but Scott is controlling him.
Scott is trying to drag Stak to the mat but Stak just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
John Stak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Scott.
Stak stops a takedown attempt from Scott.

Scott's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stak shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Scott eats them both and turns towards Stak to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Robert Scott has been cut.
Scott doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stak counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Stak scores with a one two! Scott had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Scott stands up over Stak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Scott slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Stak.
Stak wants to get back to full guard but Scott has passed into side control.
Stak tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Stak squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scott trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Stak shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A shot to the body from Stak misses

and Scott holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Scott pulls guard.

Scott wants to sweep here but Stak controlling him for the moment.

Stak wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.

Stak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stak has managed to get both his arms back between Scott's legs - danger averted.
Stak looking to sit in guard and control but Scott gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Scott wants to control from the top but Stak keeps moving.
Scott passes into half guard.
Scott not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Scott seems to be working for a kimura but Stak defends the submission attempt.
Stak pushes Scott off looking to stand but Scott dives back in and keeps control.
Scott seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Stak wants to get back to full guard.

Stak manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Scott keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes.

Stak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Stak counters with a left and a right that stings Scott.

Scott drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Stak wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Scott manages to pass to side control.

Scott is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stak defends it well.

Stak wants to control the action here but instead Scott manages to pass to full mount!

Stak tries to lock up and control but Scott gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Stak is looking to improve his position but Scott isn't that keen on the idea.

Robert Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Scott shoots for a double leg takedown but Stak sprawls well. He's pushed Scott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Scott was well out of range. Poor timing from Stak.
Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Scott drives through with a takedown into Stak's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Stak is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Scott dives into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Scott wants to stand but Stak has his arm trapped.
Stak is trying to get back to his feet.

Scott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stak keeps working.

Stak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scott moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Scott wants to get up but he can't break Stak's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Scott shoots in and drives through. Stak sprawls well.

Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stak swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's time! Stak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Scott avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stak looks to land a combination but Scott avoids it well.
Scott takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Scott pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stak throws a big counter combination but Scott scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

John Stak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stak displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Scott.

Scott is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stak pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Scott is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.
Stak tries to pull guard but Scott forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.

Stak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Scott stays in close to Stak's body and controls the position.
Scott should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Scott has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stak is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Stak tries to bum rush Scott with a series of wild strikes but Scott uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
John Stak is winning the standup battle so far.

Stak feints a jab promting Scott to slip. Stak then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Scott slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Stak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stak tries a head kick but it misses.
Scott throws a counter combo.
Scott wants to clinch up but Stak keeps it at a distance.

Scott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stak did well to prevent Scott getting side control.
Stak scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Scott manages to mount him!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Stak tries to improve his position but Scott has taken his back! Scott has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Stak tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Scott pushes Stak away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Robert Scott!
