PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Suriyan Sitsongrit (ranked 550 p4p, 1230 weight class) and Liwa Kursiwa (ranked 44 p4p, 92 weight class). Liwa Kursiwa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Liwa Kursiwa!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kursiwa throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sitsongrit counters with a right hand to the body.
Sitsongrit throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kursiwa on the side of the head.
A slow jab from Sitsongrit misses its intended target.
Sitsongrit moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Sitsongrit looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kursiwa misses with a kick to the body.
Kursiwa misses with a hook. Sitsongrit ducked under it nicely.
As Kursiwa backs away, Sitsongrit returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Sitsongrit finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Sitsongrit stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Kursiwa is rocked!
Kursiwa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kursiwa is still on wobbly legs! Can Sitsongrit finish him?
Sitsongrit fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Kursiwa to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Kursiwa looks to clinch but Sitsongrit throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Kursiwa taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Suriyan Sitsongrit was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
