PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Svalbard Haudegen (ranked 333 p4p, 473 weight class) and Lemmy Bang (ranked 49 p4p, 61 weight class). Bang is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lemmy Bang!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bang loads up on a big right hand but Haudegen slips the punch.
Bang throws the left hand but Haudegen avoids the punch easily.
Haudegen attempts a counter takedown but Bang avoids it well and moves away.
Haudegen defending well as Bang loads up on a big left hand.
Haudegen changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Bang works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Bang dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Haudegen. That did some damage!

and Haudegen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Haudegen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Haudegen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bang has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Haudegen but great work by Bang.

That was a close round but I would say that Svalbard Haudegen will probably get the nod.

and Haudegen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bang's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bang throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bang fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Haudegen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Haudegen connects with the punch.
Haudegen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bang throws out the jab.

Bang throws the left hand but Haudegen avoids the punch easily.

Haudegen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Haudegen showed some decent athleticism there.

Haudegen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bang doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Haudegen.

Haudegen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bang defends it well.
