And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalczyk fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kovacs takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kowalczyk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kovacs scores with a hook.
Kowalczyk misses with a straight left.
Kovacs tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kowalczyk manages to circle out of the way.
Kowalczyk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kowalczyk throws a lazy uppercut
and Kovacs counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kowalczyk lands a body shot.
Kovacs takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kovacs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kowalczyk jabs Kovacs to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Kovacs throws a body shot but no joy.
A shot to the body from Kowalczyk misses
and Kovacs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kovacs swings for the body but Kowalczyk moves out of range.

Kovacs tries to score with a low kick but Kowalczyk moves his leg out of the way.
Kowalczyk bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kovacs's head backwards.
Kowalczyk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kowalczyk lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kowalczyk darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kowalczyk lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Kowalczyk connects with the punch.

Kovacs is rocked!
Kowalczyk connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Kovacs covering up! Kowalczyk comes in with a big uppercut and Kovacs goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
